Sucessfull testing of PUTZMEISTER sistem for ash transport in Powerplant Plomin, Croatia
PWP Plomin successfully tested a  PUTZMEISTER system of hidraulic ash disposal. Company PUTZMEISTER in June won the contract for testing of hidraulic system for ash disposal on the plant's landfill.

The system was mounted on the test facility of the company PUTZMEISTER which consisted of high pressure piston pumps type KOS 1050 HP, Hydraulic power pack typ HA 55CI and screw type mixer THS532. The pipeline was laid in a horizontal position to a distance of approx. 50m with diameter of150mm from the pumping plant. Mixing ash test purposes by means of a small mobile mixers volume to 2.5 m3. It started with a mixture of 1:1 (50% water, 50% ash) and ended with a max. possible share of a solid mass that was on the verge of blending with the share of solid mass (ash) to 70%. Mixture of 60%: 40% (60% ash, 40% water) to 65%: 35% were shown to be optimum for pumping to a better distribution of the material (in the form of lava) on the landfill as well as reaching the bearing surface over which it was possible to walk after 1h. Putzmeister Company is hereby made all the expectations of those present and especially the employees of PWP Plomin. Thismode of transport of ash in landfills is a great alternative to other conventional modes of transport such as hydraulic (mixture 10:1) transportation, rubber conveyor or even trucks. Such transportation system can be used for the ash transport  more than 3 km distance without intermediate stop. A similar transport system for the purpose of backfilling in underground mine is in use from 2005 in Trbovlje where transport has a length of up to 3.5 km with a capacity of 30-50m3 / h.
