J.D. NEUHAUS GmbH & Co. KG (or simply JDN) is one of the oldest machine manufacturers the world. The history of this family owned company starts in 1745, when Johann Diederich Neuhaus built his first wooden shaft winch. The company history evolved from producing winches for locks and horse-drawn barges, winches for lifting railway carriages and for loading goods, winches for coal mines to the historic milestone in 1952, with the construction of a hoist with a compressed-air driven vane motor.
